This research delves into the financial status and attitudes towards retirement of mid-career and imminent retirees from three selected Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in Laguna. Findings reveal a nuanced landscape of emotions, preparations, and considerations surrounding retirement, emphasizing the need for personalized approaches in retirement planning. Financially, respondents exhibit moderate cash flow management and debt load, while long-term savings and insurance coverage are identified as areas of concern. Business and investment engagement among respondents are found to be generally low. A Pre-Retirement Program, crafted as an outcome of this study, is proposed to the Human Resource Departments of the participating HEIs. The program aims to empower employees with knowledge, resources, and support for a seamless transition into retirement. The proposed Pre-Retirement Program emerges as a proactive response to the identified needs of the higher education professionals in Laguna, reflecting a commitment to their well-being and a recognition of their valuable contributions.
